This is from the VIP April newsletter:-

NEW CTU-BASED SERIES ONLINE AND ON DEMAND

While we all anxiously await the return of Jack Bauer in the upcoming two-hour prequel (this fall) to the delayed seventh season (January 2009) of 24, the action at CTU continues through the adventures of rookie CTU agent Jason Blaine. Set within the same high-stakes world as 24, Blaine races against the clock to rescue his boss, who is kidnapped by a nefarious drug cartel.

But you can’t catch this six-part series of digital shorts on FOX television – the series, titled “The Rookie: Day 3 Extraction” is presented by Degree Men deodorant and available online at www.DegreeRookie.com. On television, it debuted Monday, March 17 in the Searchlight section of Comcast’s On Demand service. DirecTV will debut the content on Monday, April 7 on channel 115. New episodes are available on a weekly basis.

Both online and on-demand properties provide access to exclusive content, including hi-definition versions of The Rookie: Day 3 Extraction in Dolby 5.1 surround-sound, behind-the-scenes footage, as well as a sweepstakes featuring several prizes, including a new Hummer H3 sport utility vehicle.

Rodney Charters, who has directed past episodes of ‘24’, directs The Rookie: Day 3 Extraction and delivers the trademark style and universe of the Fox Emmy-winning hit.

“We’ve done everything possible to keep The Rookie: Day 3 Extraction true to the ‘24’ universe,” says Charters. “The storyline will help get fans of the show excited for Season Seven and bring our brand to life in a have-to-see way.”

Five additional digital shorts of The Rookie: Day 3 Extraction will be released on a weekly basis.

NFL star Chad Johnson will also make his acting debut in The Rookie: Day 3 Extraction, playing the part of a FBI surveillance expert codenamed “Agent Ocho,” in chapters three and four.

York magazine criticizes the death of Curtis Manning as being unworthy of the greatness of the character. Noting that “24 kills off its characters with a bloodthirstiness that is positively Transylvanian” the article adds that “Curtis’s grisly passing and entirely out-of-character final moments are quickly forgotten, and the poor b*stard is hardly mentioned at all.”

"Positively transylvanian"??? Do they watch PB?!?! Surprised

Is it gonna be a go with 24 fans? I'll have a look but we're getting into the whole spin-off territory again Confused
